The competition consists of hitting a sequence of metal targets placed at different distances, shooting from multiple supported and unsupported obstacles (barricades), all within a time frame of about 90 seconds.
Three days will be dedicated to the actual competition, while the trials and poules, fielded by the Championship organizing team, will last four days.
There are two technical categories, OPEN and FACTORY. The difference between them lies in the type of weapon.
FACTORY is a standard weapon without any alteration, while OPEN allows for intervention on the weapon by customizing it according to the shooter’s needs.
Shooters wishing to register in FACTORY category must ask for the weapon to be checked by the technicians at registration time.
Rankings will be processed directly on the firing lines as shooters have performed their rounds. At the end of each individual day of competition, partial rankings will be published.
From August 28 to September 3, TAV Piancardato will hold the first World Championship of Precision Rifle Rimfire in .22LR, caliber sponsored by IPRF (International Precision Rifle Federation).
ITPRA (the Italian Precision Rifle Federation) chose this location because it lends itself well to hosting one of the fastest growing competitions in the Precision Rifle world, thanks to its orography. There will be 23 participating nations, for an expected total number of around 300 athletes.
